Every year a Organization here in town called the Goodfellows or ” Old Newsies” pick the first Saturday of December to go out and raise money for gifts that go towards children that otherwise might not get anything for christmas.
Well this year a Winter storm is making it a bit tougher on these guys and I sure hope they are bundled up. You see them at the street corners all covered up, protecting themselves from the snow and wind.
They publish a little paper every year, where they show pictures of kids that received gifts the previous christmas, members that were out there and how much money they raised. Every pennie donated is being used to make sure that “No child is forgotten” which is their motto.
I hope that people will give, even if it is just spare change out of the cup holder. With tough times for a lot of families out there the need is greater then ever. And if you happen to be out there stop at a Gas station and get a cup of hot chocolate for the guy that is braving this weather, I did. And they will be very thankful.
