{December 24, 2010}   Remembering Christmas past

I remember my Mom and I baking buckets of a variety of cookies only to see them locked up so I couldn’t sneak any while she was at work. I was a little stinker..

I remember silver tinsel that was a pain in the behind to be put on the tree and to take off. I was so happy when my Mom finally decided to “upgrade” and get rid of it.

I remember real candles in the clip on candle holders on the tree, then came the big huge colored bulbs.

I remember looking for the right tree during the day, marking it, and returning at night to cut it and dragging it home. Funny, during day light the tree looked really good, but when we got it home it was either too tall or crooked or missed branches.

Christmas church service on Christmas eve. Playing Maria every year. It may have been the role to get, but it never had many lines.

Getting tipsy with Gluehwein, while shopping for the items on the grocery list. Mind you I was a minor and kept telling the Lady it was for my Mom. My Mom found out and was not a happy camper.

Advent calendars. Opening all the windows and eating the chocolate and closing the windows again, so it wasn’t noticed that the chocolate was gone.

Making ornaments in school, to be hung on the tree. And getting to pick that special spot for it.

Getting the yearly underwear, undershirt and socks present. I must have wished for that every year, just didn’t know it.

Getting candies, cookies and little presents from neighbors.

Listening to my Mom sing or hum to Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley and the Berlin Choir boys, while she was wrapping presents.

Watching ” A Christmas Carol” every year. Still a tradition here at my home.

Family visits with my aunt and uncle and cousins.  Wonderful feasts and treats to keep you filled for days.

These are just a few memories of mine. And this Christmas I hope you remember some of yours and make some new ones. Merry Christmas everyone !

{January 17, 2009}   To friend or not to friend…

Oh yes!! That is was the question, but I already can tell you it was to friend..and you know why? Because to friend is good, to friend is a Adrenaline rush, to friend is a high that makes a coffee buzz small potatoes.

I made lots of friends last night with some great hashtags. #followfriday and #fridayfollow, wow what a rush. I was on it, I tweeted names left and right, I could not choose one, Tweetdeck was keeping me informed, my fingers went and choose the people down the line, I had my game going, I was on top of it…till Twitter put me in a Twitter timeout. HELLOOOOOO…..what is up with that. I cannot be put in a timeout. Do you know what that means for me? I sat there, with my hands shaking wanting to twitter more names? I had Direct messages to reply too, replies to be send to all the new Stalkers. NO NO NO !!!I went back to Twitter homepage , tried there, no go. I thought about installing new clients..well no that would not work either..I had all kinds of ideas going through my head.

I had actual Twitter withdraw. I told @pfmonaco to tell everyone I was on a Twitter timeout. I wanted him to take on my name and twitter for me. I was in Twitter agony!!The timeout lasted 15 minutes till I got to start over, the longest 15 minutes of my life. I mean I could not wait for the time to start over, I was on edge, I saw all of the Tweets pass me by, I was a nervous wreck, or it could have been the coffee I had earlier. A timeout to review a play in Football doesn’t take that long, so why did my Timeout?  It was like I was cut off from the outside of the world. I would never want anyone to go through this. It is utter misery. It’s like you are being told you can’t have Chocolate and someone is eating a piece of Chocolate in front of you. That is how it is. But now I know how @TheDailyBlonde feels when she gets sent to a Twitter timeout. I think me and her need to band together and protest. 100 tweets an hour is not high enough for the two of us. We need at least 250 to satisfy our Twitter addiction, and on Hashtag nights we need at least 500. Then we should be happy. So if you hear us Twitter, can me and @TheDailyBlonde get an increase on our Twitter responses ? Trust us, we would love it. Forever grateful @paulina1 and @TheDailyBlonde !

{November 20, 2008}   Dreamjobs..

We all have them, yes Dreamjobs that we think would be just awesome. And I thought about it and had to write down some of my examples.

Restaurant reviewer. Oh the food you could eat. Just think about it. You get hungry, and just go into a Restaurant and eat and write a review about the food you just tasted. Awesome, the only drawback, if you are like me you’d be testing new pant sizes also. And it would not be in the small size either.

Hotel reviewer. Hop from country to country and review Hotels. Room Service, ordering staff around, laying by the pool with those fancy umbrella drinks, the life of Riley I tell you. Drawback, once you return back home, you are not able to call the Front Desk and request fresh towels, you actually have to wash them yourself.

Oh, Monday Night Football commentator. Oh yeah…travel to different Cities, work one night a week. Make frivolous comments for 3 hours, get the info handed to you and you get to meet all the jocks. Drawback, you realize for the other 6 days your Life is just as boring and normal as a regular Joes.

Mattress tester. Yes, if this job has not been invented yet, this definately needs to be a job. If you like to sleep this would be it. Drawback, they will wake you up so much to have you switch mattress you never get a good nights rest.

And this one I added to the list tonight. Why I never thought of it before I don’t know. But the ultimate dream job would be Chocolate taster at the Godiva Chocolate factory.  Oh a dream come true. All the chocolate for you to taste and saviour and to melt in your mouth. HEAVEN !!! Drawback, they would have a Insulin drip hooked up to you also, so you would not go into sugar shock.

So no matter what your job is right now, if you love it or hate it, your dream job has it’s flip side too. But keep on dreaming, nothing wrong with that.
